The USGIF Lifetime Achievement Award is presented, upon selection by the USGIF Board of Directors, to an influential member of the geospatial intelligence community who has dedicated much of his or her work to the tradecraft.

Past winners include Mr. Evan Hineman, 2008; The Honorable James R. Clapper Jr., 2007; The Honorable Jeffrey K. Harris, 2006; and Mr. William R. Allder Jr., 2005.

Following the presentation of the USGIF Lifetime Achievement Award, our Master of Ceremonies The Honorable Joan Dempsey will guide us through the morning keynotes and panel discussions.

Dr. Regina Dugan was sworn in as Director of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) on July 20, 2009. DARPA is the principal Agency within the Department of Defense for research, development, and demonstration of concepts, devices, and systems that provide highly advanced military capabilities.

Mr. John Oswald is the Director of the Analysis and Production Directorate at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency

Mr. Scott White is the Associate Deputy Director at the Central Intelligence Agency – a position created July 5, 2006, and delegated all authorities and responsibilities vested previously in the post of Executive Director.

Gen. Victor E. Renuart Jr. is the Commander, North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command, Peterson Air Force Base, Colo. Prior to assuming his current position, General Renuart was the Senior Military Assistant to the Secretary of Defense, Washington, D.C. He served as the principal immediate office adviser to the Secretary in all matters pertaining to the department.

Delivering GEOINT capability to our partners is a critical missionfor the National System for Geospatial Intelligence (NSG). Geospatial functional management requires NGA to work with other NSG members to identify common opportunities for smart acquisition, timely system deployment and cutting edge research and development. This panel will focus on how functional management guides resource decisions, encourages joint projects and ensures that the NSG is fulfilling our partners’ needs and maximizing our capabilities.

NGA and industry partners will provide a Transforming Operations and Production to Service (TOPS) overview, project status and discussion. TOPS is a unique collaborative effort focused on creating service-oriented business transformation across NGA and National System for Geospatial Intelligence (NSG) mission areas. In addition, an overview of how TOPS will contribute to NGA’s newly formed GeoProcessing Initiative will also be provided. The GeoProcessing Initiative will focus on defining advanced GEOINT mission threads in order to better understand future architecture alternatives.
